The last scene is so heart warming ❤️. I just want to hug Elle/Misty. But not as a surprise 😂

"If you have someone in your life who knows you well enough to push your buttons, you should cherish them."

I get this sentiment, but my experience is generally, I find a person's button and push it (by instinct and rarely on purpose) before we even get to know each other. Makes for a ton of bad first impressions.

This was a very satisfying pair of episodes, I liked the snippets of Elle's history mixed in with her adjusting to being treated like a person for rhe first time in forever.

I have to agree with Elle's assessment, Luke lives in a huge complex. 3+ floors, a lab, a gym with a pool, plus all the corridors. Mind raping for PG pays very well it seems.

Well, the sentiment as it stands, is something I've had to reframe in my own mind. I know all about unintentional button pushing, I often do it myself in the early stages of relationships. Which is probably why I have so few longstanding ones.

I'm glad you found the installment satisfying.

And, yes, Luke's Manor is large. I don't know if I've put it anywhere in the story but it was his dad's. Alexander McKeen was an engineer who designed medical equipment and made his fortune young. His wife, Luke's mother was an activist, and Alexander supported her fanaticism, which ultimately got them killed. I think it's in Luke's profile or something... Which I'm sure you saw, which brings to mind that I still need to add those onto the index... 🤔 I'm sure I'll get there eventually. Oh and there's the redwood plantation, and Luke is a medical doctor working at a city hospital... multiple income streams.😉

Ooh, thank you for reminding me about the profiles you do. I think I'll dig into those once I finish ch5. I take most things with a grain of salt, and I figure the Universe is using me/us to help teach a lesson to the people that are unintentionally triggered. Maybe I was only put in the path of that person so they could have the opportunity to think about whatever it was that created that button.

Excellent job with this latest segment, Jenny, but this piece of your introduction to it couldn't be any more true and profound- I love it exclamation point "If you have someone in your life who knows you well enough to push your buttons, you should cherish them."

Current circumstances have delayed my commenting on these scenes. And I have spent more time thinking about the events and how the viewpoints intersect.

I'll state the obvious, it's complicated. Neither Elle, Luke or Logan have the same concerns or interests here.

Luke is the analyst / researcher wanting an explanation for Elle's physical and mental behavior. He also has a bit of dark interest in her power!

Logan has more of a humanistic interest in Elle as an individual, wanting to gain her trust by not treating her as a prisoner. I don't think he even knows really what kind of relationship he is seeking with her.

As we begin, Elle is just looking to survive using her wits and all of her training this far. She is trying hard not to reveal anything strategic about herself unless she should be threatened. She is constantly mapping her environment. Of course she has been surprised by the level of apparent openness from her rescuers, and may have dropped her guard a little with the family conviviality. And I think she feels a little obligation to Luke and the boys because they did care for her over a very long term for no apparent reason. Whether she wants to or can be integrated into this family unit is as yet undetermined. Not sure if that is what's even intended by Luke and Logan. What it takes to convert an individual into a family member is beyond complicated. But some of the factors are here, such as a altruistic gift from an individual to a family unit or vice versa, based on nothing but but the desire to help expecting no reward. Another is shared traumatic life changing event or events.

Now a question... There are a couple of terms that don't have clear meaning to me. TTH is an acronym that I don't recall seeing an explanation for as yet, but I might have missed it. "Penance" was just introduced in these scenes as a motivation, but is not explained. Can you clarify?

Ooooh ooooh, I like this! Your insight is wonderful! Okay, you have most of it spot on. But first off I am just so glad to see you have been thinking of my story. I love it when a story does that, digs its claws in and won't let go and you can really immerse yourself. I didn't think I could do it! 😁🤪

I should tell you like JW - no spoilers but, since you asked so nicely...

Okay TTH is the institute Misty came from. Penance is her condition. If that clarifies enough without giving anything really away. She knows what these are and what they mean. The guys know nothing. So I suppose you will find out when they do. You can assume both things, accepting that she will explain soon enough. Next episode Tuedsay. Happy thinking! 🧡

Hey, thanks Jenny. That's just enough to make it all the more interesting! Thinking indeed!

Ellie sounds like she could take out any male soldier in her prime. She can heal completely, given enough time, and she's sure and stable. I can't help but wonder what she was being trained for. Maybe as an assassin?
