Hmm, where to start... My first thought is Elle and Cathy need a safe haven and allies to help them hide, but where and who could that possibly be? Who has experience and resources, and has access to a pair of idealistic young men with their own unique talents?

And no, after that nothing will be 'normal', but nothing has ever been normal really for Elle. The good thing is she has really come into being very closely in tune with herself as far as management of her energy resources. And she has become considerably better at problem analysis.

But the problem they face now is at a whole other level. Clearly, at this point, the Minister will stop at nothing to get Elle under her control. The end of the demonstration gave her all she needed to know. And I have to believe that she leverages power and resources well beyond General Morgan. I think he is just another pawn who may well get sacrificed trying to coerce Cathy.

And my speculation may be getting out of control here. Time to cool my jets... Friday, Friday!!

First of all, thanks for taking my (mis)leading question and running with it. As for Luke being an option... ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ˜‘๐Ÿคจ๐Ÿค๐Ÿค๐Ÿค๐Ÿ˜–๐Ÿคฏ๐Ÿ˜ต is the range of emotions flitting through my mind right now trying to decide if I should give anything away... I think I'm going to settle on not, except that your speculation should be satisfied in the next post.

No, Elle hasn't really had anything close to a normal life. But you're also right that she's got better attuned to her physical state. She's been hyperaware for the past two scenes, and even thought it's not the first time we saw this, remember right in the beginning she thinks about looking inward, and being able to visualize her remaining energy as spots of light. This is just an extension of that really and now she's more like a star trying to decide if it's going to go supernova or not, and she's been refining it for a while. As for problem analysis, she's matured a little.

When it comes to the minister... I don't think anyone really realizes what Elle can do. The Minister least of all. The fact that she can punch straight through the systems designed specifically to contain her should be worrisome, but they also remember that she's a child, and they are anticipating her behavior pretty accurately according to her maturity level.

I can't wait to see what you think of the next one. I'm working on it right now. It's different, but (hopefully) oh so satisfying.

Thank you, thank you for the fulsome response to my comment! Very intrigued by what you did and did not say...

"It's a silent horror show, and I'm the star" - a pretty damn good description of life in general, eh? Good stuff!

Sheesh. Did I really put that in there? Oh goodness. I think I might be losing my mind. This girl is supposed to be twelve, and only just on the verge of discovering the concept of cynicism for the first time.

I love that line.I wouldn't change a bit of it

Why would anyone serve the PG, or that minister? She doesn't care a bit about the people she sends to their death. It would have served her right if Elle killed her, instead of saving Cathy.

I'm just hoping that Cathy doesn't betray her.

Also, can you honestly say, you've seen a politician who genuinely cares about the people they govern? I mean, more than they care about being in the position of governor in the first place... What I've seen of the way the world works, which is admittedly a very limited view, has shown me that most everyone in a position of power got there, either by default nepotism, or by doing whatever it took, regardless of the cost.

Well, there's that patriotism thing, that's apparently a big deal. I suppose you can see I'm not really one of those. I feel disdain for most forms of government. Have never liked being ordered around unjustly. I do like rules though, logical ones, that have clear a purpose and are based on morals and values, to make life predictable. But remember, despite her power, Elle hasn't killed anyone that they know of. Maybe they are hoping she will eventually. Maybe that was the next step. I'm a little ahead of you I think. Next episode, Friday.
