Jenny, In honesty I delayed reading for fear that the fairytale was indeed over, while holding out for the magic potion to restore the prince to his rightful place. Merlin failed to appear and 'the fat lady sang'. Told you it was inappropriate!!! And I'm mixing things up all over the place...

Well I'm an old man and not sure I'm ready for the fairytale to end. Things are about to get real you say. That's kind of like welcome to the Twilight Zone relative to where we just came from? I kind of feel guilty for even speculating in this direction.

So there is a funeral to be staged with an unstable brother playing a key role. Good ole Lt Cathy will be there! Mourning or spying? Her father may well be in detention for losing Elle (Misty). Realistically in an authoritarian regime he probably would be...Cathy under threat as well... I mean Misty disappears in the midst of a firefight, Tom is killed within the same short timeframe. Enough to cast some suspicious looks at Luke and company seems like. With Logan angry and hanging on with a thread, not much needed to blow the whole story apart...

That's where I am and that enough speculation on my part for now. Bracing for what comes next!

I am trying to understand the significance of the chrysanthemums to the story... From what you said they substituted for another preference so not individually significant I guess. Now I am thinking in the art that what I thought was streaming hair is actually waves in the water with chrysanthemums floating. A reference to a ceremonial gesture for Tom who supposedly died on a cruise after falling overboard?

Sorry to hear about your technical malfunction. We never think about those things until they happen and we have to pay the price, right? Life sucks sometimes, and then it gets worse, lol!

Till next time...

Okay, I'll clarify one thing, and tell you one thing and hope it's enough to satisfy.

The flowers themselves have no significance other than as a symbol of mourning and delicacy for this chapter. They are flowers for Tom. And Misty's symbol has always been a wisp of cloud or smoke blowing in the wind, which I'll admit wasn't always clear in the beginning but I had hoped was getting more so as we have progressed. So what you thought was hair or water was supposed to be mist or smoke. Sorry. I'll be fixing that eventually to make it clearer.

One hint... Logan isn't himself right here. In fact he's sort of channeling his brother's personality right now, and refusing to let himself experience any emotions at all.

As for the first part of your comment.

I'm sorry if this piece disappointed you. I know it kind of came out of the blue, but it was sort of supposed to... It wouldn't have had such an impact otherwise. This is the catalyst for getting Misty to where she needs to be.

I am desperate to tell you more, to set your mind at ease and calm your nerves, but this is supposed to be a tumultuous period, so I think I should better let you ride it out.

And I'm sure you'll be happy to know that I've figured out an interim measure for my tech difficulty so hopefully I'll have something for you by Friday.

Until then, happy speculating.🧡

You are too kind! I hardly deserved such a fulsome response. 😔 Terrific that you are back in business!

Although this is very well put together, especially given your current equipment challenges, it's damn gut wrenching even as it feels like you are walking us down the path of this story. Excellent work lady!

Isn't losing a twin brother supposed to be gut wrenching? 🤔 I think that means I’m succeeding in making you feel feelings, and the right feelings, right? 😉 Glad to have you here Dave. It’s going to be different from here on out. I hope you like where this is headed as much as where it’s been. 🫣🤯🤪

You know I've been here with you since the beginning, and I will see this through with you to the end no matter what that end looks like. As somewhat of a Storyteller myself, keeping you guessing at what sleight of hand you might have up your sleeve makes the whole journey all the more worthwhile <3

I do remember that. I'll never forget. You were my first pledge. I will forever be grateful to you for helping me conquer my fear of 'appearing' publicly and keeping up my publishing in those early days when it was still so scary. Thanks Dave. I hope that I manage to keep you entertained for many months still at least.

I did not expect the death like that. It hit me like a ton of bricks.

Now, I wonder about the direction the story can take.

Sorry I blindsided you. I don't think anyone was expecting it. But that was the point, so your ton of bricks brings me much joy. 😄 Until here it's been a fairytale. Now things are going to get real. 😈
