What a visualization!!! I'm really liking it. I see something of why you wanted to incorporate Dennis in this saga. I don't notice any problems so I assume you have made what adjustments were necessary. Interesting the multiple conflicts that kick into high gear so quickly. It seems to me that the interrogation is not necessarily the primary objective by the General. I read these events as likely to be tests of Luke, Logan and Tom's capabilities as assets to be used in furtherance of the Generals ambition in some way. And Tom has an innate suspicion of both Luke and the Generals motivation I believe. Interesting that you created a crystalline being that can morph or project himself in a humanoid form. Is the form taken just to accommodate or match the most nearby life forms? And I guess that Logan's restraints are slipping because of the power of the Ruby Viewer to shift shape?
Thanks so much Frank! I'm very glad you enjoyed this scene. I haven't made adjustments yet actually, perhaps I was being a bit hard on myself. And since you didn't notice anything, I think I'll leave it as is for now.
You're right, the multiple conflicts do seem to come together a bit here. And the tests have indeed got more to do with the boys' abilities than Luke's. That was in fact what I hoped you would take away here.
I feel I can tell you, without giving too much away, that the Ruby Observer is something that should only exist in space. they float around, keeping deserving planets from being interfered with by cosmic forces, maybe nudging evolution along a bit. He was never supposed to actually go down to the surface and interact.
And I hope you noticed that Luke appears to have some experience with them, more than the General anyway, although he doesn't know everything there is to know.
As for Morgan's ambition, I think I have made it obvious enough that he wants the boys. But for now he is using them as leverage to keep Luke active with the PG for his own purposes.
I was really excited about this scene, couldn't wait for it to come out. I am so glad you enjoyed it, and that it incited so many good questions. 😁
This is another very fun scene. So much going on in a short time. Thanks as always for the mind candy!
This scene has a link in the Index, but it currently goes to ch3sc7.
Good stuff! You are rocking this :)
