Hi Sparks.
I couldn’t do it.
Substack sent me this message… You gotta post! You got 2 days before you break the streak.
And my commitment nerves started prickling. I couldn’t resist.
So, here’s another profile, at long last.
This one is drawn up on the fly, much like the last, so forgive typos and possibly some inconsistency.
I’m doing my best under pressure here.
Oh, and Merry Christmas by the way! It’s my favorite time of year, also the time of year I work the hardest, but it’s all done with love so I can’t complain.
Profiles | Luke | General Victor Morgan | Next —> coming soon…
My four-star General Victor Morgan is actually the hero of another story. There he’s a young nobody, the good guy, gets the girl, and saves the day and all that. But in this one, he is the villain. The big boss baddie. One of the head honchos of the Planetary Guard and liaison to Luke for his interrogation work.
Morgan’s physical appearance. He is older middle-aged, salt and pepper hair, clean shaven. Tall and slim, with squared shoulders as you’d expect for a military man. Tight-laced black boots with tucked-in trousers, as a rule.
I envisioned him with a squarish jaw, and bushy eyebrows over brown eyes, high cheekbones (like Cathy’s) and a slightly crooked nose, but since we only saw him from Logan’s perspective, and teenage boys don’t typically notice things like that you guys haven’t got that much detail yet.
In his youth, Victor Morgan was in line to be a surgeon for the military, but couldn’t take the pressure and the blood so he went into psychology, where he worked for a few years until he met, Rose - the Great Drake (Elder cousin species of the Drakisthan Warriors we see so much of here). He helped her escape from a mental institution, where she was incarcerated for charges of serial murder (guilt undecided) and undergoing various particularly inhumane experiments. So, the valiant knight that he was, helped her break free then saved her life with his incomplete surgoen skills when she was wounded in the escape. Then they went on the run until she died three years after giving birth to a daughter - Hello Cathy!
Yes, the same Cathy Morgan who taunted our boys, on dear old Daddy’s orders for months in hopes of getting the scoop on Elle.
Morgan went back to the military, to follow in his prominent father’s footsteps, serving there, in order to avoid prison time and retain the privilege of raising his daughter.
He turned out to be a gifted soldier, led a distinguished career, proved himself as a commander, and after burying his dad, climbed the ladder to the top, during which time he learned just how dangerous people who are able to manipulate raw energy can be.
His motivation…
He is your typical patriot. He is a full-blooded human, the of a soldier. Just wants to protect his planet from threats, namely all these alien weirdos, especially the ones that can manipulate raw energy. He remembers a time when aliens- sorry, people from other planets, weren’t all that common. I mean it was common knowledge that they existed but they very much stayed out of the spotlight.
During his years of service with the PG, Victor Morgan witnessed many a superhuman ability-bearing person from another planet, turn into a one-man army capable of killing hundreds of people with a single blast.
Now, that he is getting older, and no longer as active on the battlefield, he runs the nearest PG base and is charged with keeping tabs on Luke and his adopted sons. He worked with their father, so he knows that they are strong he just doesn’t realize they are, like, kill-a-whole-planet kind of strong. He is smarter than he looks though and a bit more insightful than he shows, but he is also stubborn, and very careful about his reputation and losing face with his subordinates, which makes him sometimes kinda stupid. Obtuse, I believe, is the word Logan used.
Okay, that’s pretty much all I can give you right now. Will update at some point and let you know to look up Victor Morgan again sometime…
